*No Lawyers Allowed does not give legal advice. We educate folks about options for handling problems without needing to involve lawyers and courts, and we offer mediation and dispute resolution services. If you want legal advice, you should hire an attorney.

YOU MAY BE ASKING YOURSELF:

"Do I have a claim?"

"Can I file a lawsuit?"

probably.

Anyone can make a claim or file a lawsuit about anything.  The real question is should you?

Filing a lawsuit or making a claim does not mean you will get money or “win.”  The court will let anyone pay a filing fee and file a lawsuit.

Is a lawsuit worth filing, or is a claim is worth making it?  That is what you should really be asking.

If you are fighting over $1,000, should you spend $15,000 on a lawsuit?  If your claim is about $1,500 in losses, can you justify spending $5,000 on a lawyer?

It’s about standing your ground for sure.  But, it also has to make financial sense.

let's do the math

Let’s say you decide to hire a lawyer.  And, let’s say the retainer is $1,500.

Guess what the other folks involved in your problem will do?  They will hire a lawyer and pay $1,500 for a retainer.

You are now both invested in the dispute a total of $3,000.  After the lawyers spend your $1,500, they will ask for another $1,500 and suggest you go to traditional mediation.

You are both now invested in the dispute a total of $6,000.  You are now headed to traditional mediation where you will pay lawyers and a mediator.

How’s your math?  Is this penciling out?  Nope.

Wouldn’t it be great if instead of using money to pay lawyers you could use money to work toward a resolution?  Yep.

You can.  With NLA, you do not need lawyers and courts to resolve problems.

Now, on the other hand, if you have a dispute that involves a very large amount at issue, and it is very complicated, and you can justify paying lawyers, then you should find yourself a good lawyer.  Otherwise, go NLA today.  Do not delay.  All claims and lawsuit have deadlines.
