DO I NEED A LAWYER?
Sometimes it's easy to know if you need to hire a lawyer. If you've been charged with a crime or have been served with a lawsuit — a lawyer is exactly what you need. However, in many other cases, you may be able to resolve your problem without the expense of lawyers and courts. There are lots of options for getting your problem resolved.
Consider the following:
You can try to work things out on your own.
You can try to negotiate with others involved in the problem and try to reach a resolution.
You can try mediation, where a mediator (a neutral third-party) helps you and others involved in the problem get the problem resolved.
You can do nothing, but that might get you sued or your claim might expire.
You can hire a lawyer, but it may not be worth it if you have an option for resolving your problem without getting lawyers involved.
